Waxing Lyrical
To anyone who's a fan of the Larry Arms, brace yourselves. They're touring the UK in March. No dates confirmed yet but talk of both UK and Ireland. Amazing news for me, as they're one of the few bands I still HAVE to see. I got into the Lawrence Arms through the more well known Alkaline Trio, and it only took a couple of listens to their best (imo) album Apathy And Exhaustion and I was hooked. If you haven't heard them check them out.
EG Workaday Hooded Sweat
Like a lot of others, I'm a big fan of Engineered Garments, and following the release of their recent workaday range I have to confess, I loved that too!
The workaday range is the brainchild of Daiki Suzuki, the emphasis being on cut and quality rather than gaudy logos or obvious branding. I purchased the thermal hooded sweat from the Bureau Belfast on release, and despite being a mite expensive (£160) for a plain sweat, the quality is phenomenal and you'll be as warm as a bug in a rug in it. Fit small so definitely size up if you're considering one, they come in black, grey and navy.
And so it begins...
Blogs seem to be the "in thing" at the moment. Especially blogs that deal with what I'm into: the often heard term "functional clothing."
Perhaps it's a combination of the americana/workwear trend which has been recently popular, or the movement of individuals known loosely as "casuals" towards a new range of labels, but whatever the reason, there's a lot of content available on the net that deals with it. With this in mind I'm not seeking to break any new ground, as there's others doing this much better than me (countylads take a bow) so bear with me and hopefully you enjoy some of my ramblings!
